more random pix II - this will have to hold you until we get home!

We leave tomorrow, and after a full 24 hours of travel, we will make it home (we hope!). I'll post more when we get settled in. So, for now, we say good bye, Vietnam. And thank you.

A person can't have too many pictures of a kid as special as Minh (OK, so I"m prejudiced) But I am not the only one who is going to miss the daily blog updates and photos. BTW - Some people are interested in the pix of VNM, although I am sure that Minh-pix are the big draw. Safe travels to you all. Much love, BMA

Listen to this,.... We got a call at 3am this morning (Thurs.) , from Danesha, very upset saying ' I need Help, I'm stranded in Hong Kong" ..and she was. ..a dying cell phone battery, there had been a typhoon , many canceled flights, she couldn't fly into Canada with Minh due to his Visa requirements, and the air Canada desks were all shut down there in Hong Kong..and her AirCan. ticket was invalid. Needless to say, when a father hears things like that he gets very serious about helping! So I got online and looked up the American Consulate in Hong Kong , had to go to another site to learn the international codes involved and was on the phone with them within 10 minutes of the call…then we spent 5 hrs trying to get her another ticket home ..I was scanning and attaching and saving and faxing and ultimately emailing, credit card pix, drivers licenses and CreditCard validation forms .they had us trying to fax those but i could only get a busy signal on fax machine. While Linda made calls and talked to John and Pat and UP and Tom and the airlines…So we ended up validating by email, after talking to many different people at airlines in both Hong Kong and U.S, as well as the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong..... all after i hopped out of bed at 3 am. and promptly called the American Consulate in Hong Kong who were very caring and very helpful, calling me back calling Danesha etc.I will send that woman flowers if there is any way possible to do that. Now we have her, Danesha, on her way to LAX, and we have now gotten her a ticket to Raleigh from there ..and a hotel room in LA whne she and Minh arrive . .. Her Dad Craig
