Breathing Easier

Well, we had the TEE yesterday. We got the best news we could have expected; No immediately surgery necessary. TG. And, the original surgery "fix" seems to be holding steady. Yeah! The bad news, now a different valve is going bad, and will need to be fixed. HOWEVER, we are simply in a holding pattern since it's not so bad they feel it needs to be dealt with right away. It WILL need to be fixed, of course, but we have some time to plan!

Oh, and here are some more pictures of my son being uber cute. I have so many great pictures, but so little time to drop them onto the site! Work has got me so busy, and promises to get busier, but that's good. It means good job security. In fact, I just got - this very second - a note back from an editor than one of my manuscripts has been accepted for publication. WOOOO-HOOO. (My CV is seriously in need of this additional manuscript.)

Anyway, the last I have to say is simply: COME ON SPRING!!!

Breakfast at the Ranch

We don't do anything "normal" around our house. Here's just a brief glimpse of one morning at our house recently...

So, the story: MM likes to eat Cheerios for breaky. One morning, DH was loading the washing machine, and MM was carrying around his box of cheerios (I don't know why he had the ENTIRE box. Normally he just gets a hand-full in his snack-trap, but for some reason he had the WHOLE box. Which was brand new.) Anyway, MM decided that the laundry basket, now recently emptied of clothing, looked like a great place to eat breakfast I guess. And this was the result.

I found him like this, btw. I didn't put him in the basket. He did that himself! Pretty funny, huh?

Back from vacation and some random cute pix

Who leaves the beautiful South to go to the freezing Yankee World Up-North on vacation in february???? Well, we did. We just spent a week at my folks' farm and had a really nice time (other than the MM got very sick with his first - in our care - fever). I have lots of good pictures, but haven't had the chance to upload them. In fact, I have a ton of cute cute cute pictures (go figure), but those will have to wait.

We are all doing well, after each one of us catching some bug I carefully fostered all the way back from NoLA (in which BTW, I had a WONDERFUL time up until I got sick). I even got to see an old friend (ok, she's not actually OLD, she's just a friend from way-back...but she IS older than I am.).  Anyway, we are back home now, and we are planning for what is to come/ or what we expect MAY come, as I said.

Ok, well, this post was mainly to say howdy, y'all. we are back. My son is wonderful. Spring is coming (my camillia is in full bloom, and my daffies have started blooming too!). And well, for now, life is pretty good. (I mean, seriously, isn't that little critter up there ADORABLE?!)

And it comes full circle

Well, when I began this blog almost 3 years ago (dec 2005) it was to keep everyone up to date on T's heart surgery "stuff". It was a true inspiration as I was able to post up-to-the-minute happenings, how surgery and recovery was going, etc. etc. and not have to field 1000 calls and 9 million emails. Well, folks.

And, it looks like we get to do it again.

T's last cardiology appointment went badly. No, not because he threw his shoes at the doctor (or former-president) but b/c something ain't right. We go on the 25th for a final round of tests, and Dr. J. - the cardiologist - will meet with our former (and possibly future) surgeon Dr. L. and come up with a game plan.

For now, we're preparing for the worst, while hoping for the best.

Sunday beautiful Sunday

Took Mr. Minute out on my golf course Sunday. The weather was perfect, I had work to do, and MM had some serious sand to move. He'd shovel it into his bucket, pour it out, move a little, and fill it back into the bucket. He never once looked up, so I didn't get his cute face in any of the photos, but you can see how serious the business of sand moving is.
