Mr. Too-Cool-For-School - plus general update

My little man is WONDERFUL. I know, I know. EVERY ONE thinks their kid is perfect. But honestly, Little Duder is great. He had a "terrible Two" night last night, but when he realized how upset I was with him, he was so contrite!! Honestly. He gave me so many (sloppy) smooches to make up for being rotten I can hardly stay upset.

We are also potty training. He gets it about 50% of the time. Mainly, I think he just forgets!! But, TG it's warm weather, so he can run around in his birthday suit most of the day, which makes it easier for him to remember to "go to the potty" when he has to go. Yesterday he was peeing in our rock buckets outside... but you know, that's totally fine with me! He's getting the idea, and that's what counts.

I also have a nice little garden this year. MM and I tend it every evening. We got our first zucchini the other day (yay!!). We've got tomatoes coming on (herloom varieties), watermelon, cucs, zucs, pepers, and some sort of un-identified squash. Good stuff!!

The return of Mr. Adorable

MM is such a ham. I swear he's got so much personality it oozes from him. This morning he wanted me to wake up, but he (I guess) wasn't sure how to do it, so he faked a crying fit. As always, I immediately wake up, and reach for a bottle for him to help him fall back asleep. But this morning, he was sitting right in my face with the biggest grin I have ever seen on his face. I tried to roll back over, and he did it again, with the same results. He had me!! Then, we finally got out of bed, and he "side-walked" all the way into the kitchen. (M's "side-walk" is like the moon walk, only side-ways. HILARIOUS!). This was all before 9 o'clock in the morning.

Work, work, workworkworkwork

Haven't actually blogged much. there are a number of reasons for this. One, is that I am UBER busy. Two, I'm working a lot.... and three, well, I don't have time to blog. Truth be told, the fourth thing would be that I don't have anything to say. I'm SOOOO far behind, but there isn't really much to share. Maybe I can come up with something.....

One thing that happened a few weeks ago is that a dear friend of mine came to visit and brought her two girls (4, and 2). We had SO MUCH FUN. It was really really just a great time. It was inspiring to see her with her kids; she's a great Mom and a great parent, so I tried to learn from her what I could. MM learned some stuff too. for example, he learned two new words (which he uses liberally now). Word one: MINE! (always said with an exclamation point on it). and word two: No. (Usually said very clearly and also used very liberally). It sounds bad, doesn't it? but really, I don't mind at all. He's so wonderful, that he is allowed some of this behavior!! And he is nearly two, after-all!

And second. We are not adopting from China. This has been something we decided sometime ago, but I've been putting off telling anyone. And I have a hard time thinking about it. And no, I'm not going into the reasons on here. Suffice to say, we have enough going on right now, that we would not be the proper family for a new needy baby.

Anyway, over all, we are doing well. MM is both wonderful and a terribly handful all at the same time. You know what I mean. He's nearly two, after all.

Mom is great, made me chocolate cake....

Minute Man's first chocolate cake (spoon) experience. All in all, if you judge by how much batter he has on his face, I'd say it was a hit!!
